As of the moment, the tech giant firm's physical stores and authorized service providers usually replace the whole iPhone device of a customer if the Face ID is not working correctly.

This is because Face ID sensors are quite complicated to fix, but Apple's new move will soon change this scenario.

According to 9To5Mac's latest report, Apple sent a memo to its employees, saying that authorized technicians will soon access the new TrueDepth Camera service part.

Apple launched the latest iPhone featuring face recognition technology, a large 5.8-inch edge-to-edge high resolution OLED display and better front and back cameras with optical image stabilisation today.

This program includes a front camera and Face ID sensor modules, which will assist repairmen when performing same-unit repairs for Face ID issues.

To put this on a simpler term, Apple's authorized technicians no longer need to replace the whole device. All they need to do is replace the Face ID module on an iPhone device with a new one that works properly.

Meanwhile, MacRumors reported that the new TrueDepth Camera service covers iPhone XS and the latest iPhone series models.

This is not the first time that the giant smartphone maker has made this type of move. Back in 2021, Apple also launched a similar program, which focuses on repairing the rear glass of selection iPhone 12 models.

It also aims to prevent whole-unit replacement when a smartphone has issues with its back part.

Other Face ID Enhancements

Aside from the new TrueDepth Camera service part, Apple recently announced a new feature for iPhones that allow Face ID to work even when the user is wearing a mask.

Since the global COVID-19 pandemic is still forcing many people to wear face coverings, the Face ID enhancement of Apple is quite helpful.

This just shows that Apple is not yet done upgrading its popular security feature.

Rumors recently claimed that MacBook with Face ID would soon arrive in other news. Meanwhile, a U.K. repair store previously revealed that iPhone 13 screen might soon be replaceable without losing the advanced Face ID feature.
