Are we close to seeing a new Nintendo Switch Pro controller? The latest patent suggests that it might come soon.

To be fair, many users are still expecting that the alleged Nintendo Switch Pro will arrive despite the earlier speculations that it won't be pushed through anymore. The reason why it won't launch anytime is because of the Nintendo Switch OLED model which was released in October 2021.

As for the potential design of the leaked console, Nintendo Power reports that the expressions regarding it still remain subtle. Nvidia Hack has released an update about it which involves the AmpereSoc.

Many Pro Switch-related rumors still surface as of press time, but some want to hear something that could happen soon. That's when SillyTweet5 stumbled upon a tweet a month ago.

The Twitter user discovered exactly a month ago that the gaming console maker might be leaning towards creating a brand new Nintendo controller. According to the patent that the person posted on social media, there is only a little information that you can see on it.

One notable detail that you can observe about this game controller is the placement of its battery. The patent suggests that it will be located between the inner frame gap.

"The internal structural body includes at least: an internal frame having an installation surface and a recess adjacent to the installation surface; a battery that is accommodated in the recess of the internal frame and has a first surface that opposes a bottom surface of the recess and a second surface on a side opposite to that of the first surface; and a flexible substrate that is installed on the installation surface of the internal frame and includes a conductive pattern.," the patent reads.

SillyTweet5 writes that he found the patent in the Patent Office. You can check more about this by visiting Espacenet Patent Search.

An N64 Controller?

According to some tweets from SillyTweet5's status thread on Twitter, there are glaring similarities that it shares with an N64 controller.

One user replied that it's literally just an N64 controller which lacks the start button and the handles. He pointed out that this alleged Switch Pro controller has a slot on its rear part.

Another person wrote that it could be a Switch controller without analogs. He assumed that this gadget might be good for retro online stuff.

The majority of the comments indicated that the controller borrows a SNES-inspired design for the Switch console. There's even one comment which said that it resembles a Wii classic control but without a joystick.
