Apple users are finally getting the famous features for their cloud needs with the iCloud Shared Photo Library which is now available via the latest iOS 16.1 version of the iPhone operating system. It will allow users to set up a cloud space where they may invite other people to join and collaborate to bring one album filled with their images and videos.

The feature will arrive together with the iOS 16.1 release by October 24, with the feature arriving on the devices after several delays in its availability.

9to5Mac reported that the iOS 16.1 update that is coming soon will finally deliver on the iCloud Shared Photo Library, as previous reports claim that it is arriving with the first update. The feature is allowing users to upload their images and videos directly to the cloud, setting up a shared album from one's personal library.

Apple's WWDC 22 press release for iOS 16 first introduced the Shared Photo Library feature for all. However, there were concerns regarding its delay for users when the iOS 16 first dropped last September for all eligible users.

Despite the delays, Apple is still focusing on getting it out to the public and using it for their needs, setting up a way to have it available for friends and family under iCloud.

How Does the iCloud Shared Photo Library Work?

Users may set up the iCloud Shared Photo Library on the Settings > Photos option, and here, they may choose who to add and remove from the shared album. The feature is also available for the Camera app where they can snap images that directly upload to the shared album, and also available for them to toggle on and off among iOS 16 users.

Apple's Offers for the iOS 16 and iCloud

WWDC 22 delivered the first look at the iOS 16, and most of what the company unveiled during the event are the main features and upgrades for the smartphone OS coming to Apple users. The company regularly updates its main features for the device, including the iCloud which has been one of the main products of the company.

However, iCloud received massive backlash from users and law enforcement for a long time now, especially for the security issues that many exploit to steal data and information.

The iOS 16 aims to deliver more features to users despite having no significant revamp of its features, especially with what it has to offer the iPhone and iPad users. One of the main focuses for the iCloud on iOS 16 is the Private Relay which will expand on the feature to deliver more security and protection for users that access it.

The latest version of iOS 16.1 that will arrive soon is also to deliver on iCloud and its features available for all, centering on the Shared Photo Library that will help users collaborate. The main concern now is its availability and security, especially as it allows many to use a single service for their multiple needs.
