New Features for Pixel 7 & 7 Pro

Google promised during the Pixel 7 launch that users would be receiving exclusive features for free, as they will be launching several updates to the devices. In its newest update, device owners will have access to a VPN that is included in Google One subscriptions. But in this case, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro owners can obtain this feature for free.

The Verge reported that Google would also debut its newest feature for calls. The Clear Calling feature will reduce background noises and enhance the owner's voice to enhance the call, even in a loud environment.

This feature will only be exclusive to 7 and 7 Pro devices, as Pixel 6 uses a different chipset that is not compatible with the presented new features. Google Spokesperson Matthew Flegal stated, "Clear Calling requires the capabilities of the Google Tensor G2 processor, so it will not roll back to Pixel 6 models."

Aside from the two, the Recorder application will now have (1) speaker labels that will automatically assign labels to multiple people during recording, and (2) a line break for transcriptions changes. According to TechCrunch, these features are only available to professional transcription tools like Otter.ai.

New Features for All Pixel Phones

While the features mentioned above are exclusively available to Pixel 7 and 7 Pro devices, the older generation will also be having several updates where they can obtain new features like enabling spatial audio with head tracking with Pixel Buds Pro. This feature will be available in January.

Organized security and privacy settings are also now available in the new update, where both settings can be accessed in a single hub.

For Pixel Watch owners, Google will be launching Fitbit Premium's Sleep Profiles with monthly sleep animal and new tiles for weather and contacts. For future updates, Google promised that Pixel Watch would be getting a fall detection feature next year that detects the owner if unresponsive. Emergency services will be contacted once the feature is triggered.
