Google was recently leaked for its alleged new device, centering on the Pixel Tab that was spotted by users in the Facebook Marketplace which claims it is a "pre-release" device for 2023. The question now is how would it fare against the Nest Hub, and if it would replace it in the near future.

Google is allegedly replacing the Nest Hub with the Pixel Tab, and this makes the public wonder why there is a need to do this.

First off, Google is already reinforcing the Pixel brand on its company for its tech releases, as evidenced by 2022's lineup that features different accessories and accompaniments for the devices. From the Pixel smartphone down to its smartwatch and wireless earbuds, Google wants the Pixel to be its face in technology.

Famous Apple insider and leaker, ShrimpApplePro, recently shared a screenshot from the Facebook Marketplace which features an unreleased device from Google's development.

According to Android Central, the leaker also noted if this is a prototype from Google.

While there are no announcements yet regarding the phase out of the Nest Hub, it only proves that the Pixel Tablet will be next year's featured smart home device with its docking station.

Indeed, Google made the Nest Hub as the device to help control all of the Nest products at home for a better integration, but the internet company already released Matter for its smart home controls, in collaboration with Big Tech companies.

Pixel Tab to Replace Nest Hub in 2023?

While there are no ways to verify if this is indeed the Pixel Tab that is set for 2023, it highly resembles the Nest Hub (2nd gen) on first look.

With Matter already present for Google and other device's smart home integration, the Nest may focus on continuing to deliver new products like doorbells, cameras, and more, but no longer tablets for a centralized control.

Matter's presence gives Google an opportunity to focus on a multi-purpose tablet that maybe more than for the home and office use, more of a lifestyle device like the Galaxy Tab and iPad. Both are intended to be lifestyle devices and control the smart home.

This also comes as an opportunity for Google to shine a light on the Pixel, as a brand for its tech releases, for all needs, which exceeds the Nest, mostly marketed for the home.

Google's Pixel and Nest Devices

As far as 2022 goes, this was the most expansive year for the Pixel lineup as the company released multiple accessories that are sold separately for its offers. Of course, there is the Pixel 7 smartphone which features the next-generation Tensor silicon chip from the company, as well as the highly anticipated Pixel Watch, and the earlier-released Pixel Buds.

The Pixel lineup is Google's current focus for its tech releases and 2022 indeed showed that it was the top priority among any other.

Technology like the Nest Speakers, Nest WiFi, Nest Doorbells, and others from its releases are still developed and manufactured by the company for all.

This new Pixel Tab is a great way to introduce its new focus, should Google be looking to change its Nest smart home offers for the public, now under one branding from the internet company. This leak shows Google's massive plans for the Pixel's future for a more immersive experience for the home, as well as for personal use.
