Apple may soon launch a new AR/VR headset in two years, which would be a different release compared to the upcoming one that will arrive this year. According to Ming-Chi Kuo's latest post, this new venture from Apple would be a low-end or base model VR headset that would continue its "Reality" series of releases.

This new device would center on a release that would not be gatekept for professionals or developers and would be available for everyone to use, enjoy, and afford.

Ming-Chi Kuo announced via his latest Medium post that an upcoming second version of the Apple AR/VR headset will be coming in two years to deliver a base model in 2025.

The analyst claimed that the first version, a.k.a. the "Reality Pro," is currently under Pegatron's development team and production, with the company transferring it over to Luxcaseict.

Pegatron is a shareholder of Luxshare ICT and would still benefit from Apple's mixed reality business despite the turnover, one that would focus on its mass production of the entry-level version.

The second-generation Apple AR/VR headset would have two models upon release, and it would center on high-end and low-end versions for the public to purchase, says Kuo.

Luxcaseict and Foxconn will work on the device under a joint venture to deliver it by 2025.

Why is there a Second AR/VR Headset Coming?

The second AR/VR headset is coming soon to deliver a version for the public to use, and unlike the upcoming one for this year, Apple will have it available for everyone.

The initial one coming later this year by June's WWDC will center mostly on professionals instead of a mass-release version.

Kuo also claimed that the likelihood of the mixed-reality headset coming by the Spring event would be unlikely, as Apple would prioritize other devices more.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is on the verge of releasing its first-ever AR/VR headset, featuring the two digital technologies on one wearable for various purposes in the industry. However, this "Reality Pro" device would be intended for professionals only and would not be meant to use by your average joe in public.

This raises concerns about the upcoming mixed-reality headset, especially as it would be the first device from Apple to feature this technology and would be intended for professionals only.

And it saw significant delays, claims the analysts and insiders, especially as the company meant to have it for release last year. Still, several elements are not yet ready, hence its 2023 arrival.

Venturing towards XR is not yet widely available in the world, as most devices strictly focus on augmented reality and others are for virtual reality only.

Apple plans to create one that encompasses both spectra of the digital reality but would see years-apart releases to deliver its product to different types of consumers and users.
