According to Phone Arena, the next-generation iPad Pro is set to make a milestone for Apple. When it gets the shimmer of the spotlight in 2024, it is expected to be the first-ever iPad to rock an AMOLED display.

Current iPad offerings in the market feature the proprietary Retina Display of Apple. Gizmo China notes that it provides users with impressive color reproduction. It also delivers a high pixel density.

On the other hand, other mobile devices out there are now offering AMOLED displays. It has gained popularity these days as it brings more contrast and improved color reproduction.

With that said, it looks like Apple is getting ready to join the trend. The iPad Pro 2024 might finally start adopting AMOLED screens.

iPad Pro AMOLED Prototype Leak

As early as now, a tipster, who goes by Shrimp Apple Pro on Twitter, claims that Apple started working on the prototype of the iPad Pro AMOLED. And as such, it seems that it might actually debut in 2024.

The tipster disclosed that the tech giant is currently working on a total of four AMOLED prototypes.

On top of that, the Twitter user also revealed the sizes of the panels. One spans up to 11 inches, while the other goes nearly 13 inches or 12.9 inches, to be more exact.

Shrimp Apple Pro further disclosed that the AMOLED panels that the tech behemoth is testing out might differ from what iPhone users are familiar with.

Instead of the flexible OLED screens on iPhones nowadays, the iPad counterpart display appears to be on the "brittle" side, the tipster notes.

Phone Arena notes in its report that Google uses the same kind of OLED screen for its Pixel flagship phones. In fact, the Pixel 6 series and the Pixel 7 lineup come with rigid panels.

The huge disadvantage that users complained about the "brittle" AMOLED is its janky viewing angles.
