Apple is reportedly developing a supersized iPad Pro, according to analyst Ross Young. The new model will have a 14-inch display, as opposed to the usual 12-inch for iPads, and faster versions of the M2 chip will power it.

Apple to Release New iPad Pro

In a newsletter written by Mark Gurman for Bloomberg, the new model is set for release in 2023. The display of the 14-inch iPad Pro will be equipped with ProMotion and mini-LED technology.

The tech giant is also rumored to launch two tablets before 2022. The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions of the iPad Pro are expected to hit the shelves before Christmas.

As for the laptops, the tech giant plans to refresh its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with new silicon. The upcoming laptops are expected to be equipped with two new chips named M2 Pro and M2 Max.

Other Features Coming to MacBook and iPad

Gurman added that there are a couple of new features that Apple will add to its devices. There are the M2 chips for the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, which are faster versions of the M2 processor that Apple introduced during the WWDC event.

The new M2 chips are 18% faster than their predecessor, while the graphics processing unit provides a 35% speed improvement.

Meanwhile, the memory controller that moves data between the processor and the memory is 50% faster.

Both the M2 Pro and M2 Max are also expected to improve the performance of the laptops. The new chips could feature 12 CPY cores and up to 38 GPU cores.

Apple is also working on the wireless charging feature for its iPad Pro. According to 9to5Mac, the tech giant wants to add the wireless charging feature and glass design to its new iPad Pro models but has hit a roadblock due to a lot of issues.

For one, Apple believes that switching to a glass back for the iPad Pro may make it too fragile. However, if it has an aluminum back, it won't be compatible with the MagSafe Charger.

Apple has developed a prototype for its iPad Pro and added a larger Apple logo made of glass. So instead of transmitting the power to the entire backside of the iPad Pro, it will be transmitted to the logo instead.

It was also reported that additional magnets were built-in into the prototype to prevent accidents and allow it to charge via MagSafe.

The new iPad Pro will also have a longer battery life, an improved camera system similar to the iPhone 13, and a new chip.

Apple's Plans for the Rest of the Year

As announced during Apple's WWDC 2022 event, there will be a series of new devices to hit the market. Aside from the new iPad Pro models and MacBook Air features, fans of the tech giant can also expect a new watchOS.

According to Gizmodo, the watchOS 9 will have a larger display and better sleep tracking features.

The new Apple Watch, which will be released in September or October, will also provide users with a convenient way to track their prescription medication.
