The renowned Apple iPhone manufacturer is once again tapped by an EV startup company, this time Fisker, to help the company create its Pear EV, soon on its US-based plant in Lordstown, Ohio. However, there are still no deals between the two companies, and while both are already in agreement, nothing is yet set in stone regarding Fisker and Foxconn's partnership.

Adding to Foxconn's past, it has a lot of baggage regarding rocky relationships and partnerships, with the company facing significant criticism over its failed co-ventures.

Fisker's latest press release has confirmed a massive development for its PEAR EV, the sub-$30,000 priced compact clean energy car with Foxconn donning the helm on its production. The collaboration with Foxconn was announced by the company in its latest showcase of the PEAR EV, with the production centering here on US soil, particularly in the Taiwanese company's Lordstown, Ohio factory.

The EV company claimed that Foxconn's manufacturing and deliveries are expected to commence by July 2025, with the PEAR EV slated for release by 2026.

PEAR EV's main design is centered on young people living in big cities that are deprived of space.

"We created this vehicle with the idea that young people living in the world's big cities need innovative, versatile, and affordable mobility," said Henry Fisker, Fisker CEO.

Foxconn and Fisker Still Have to Make a Deal

According to TechCrunch, Fisker's announcement is massive, but there are still no confirmations from Foxconn regarding its upcoming work for the PEAR EV.

This is amidst the many controversies and problems Foxconn is facing, including its lawsuit from Lordstown and the failed $19.5 million deal with Vedanta.

Foxconn's Notorious Past and Fisker

Foxconn is an iconic name in the consumer electronics market, mainly because of its massive partnership with Apple on the iPhone's assembly, with the Taiwanese service provider getting massive fame because of this. For many years, Apple has been in partnership with Foxconn, making it a stellar name in the assembly business and birthing massive partnerships globally.

As early as 2021, Fisker and Foxconn announced its partnership regarding its partnership to create electric vehicles, with Henry Fisker previously claiming that their deal is moving faster than expected. However, there are still questions regarding when these companies would bring their prototype for the world to see, especially with the many promises of Fisker.

Fisker and Foxconn's relationship is steadily looking for the best opportunities to complement what each has to offer, and it has stood the test of time already. Now, Fisker remains its long-time partner to be its creator of the upcoming budget and compact electric vehicle from the company, the Pear, a car that will arrive by 2026, with Foxconn starting its production by 2025.
