The renowned accessibility app from Microsoft, Seeing AI, is now available on Android to download on a user's smartphone or tablet, offering a significant technology and feature for the visually impaired. This is a different type of text-to-speech experience for users, as it would need the camera to point to an object or document, with the app giving audio descriptions for those who need it.

Initially, Microsoft made it available for iOS users and was limited to Apple devices, but now, it is expanding further for Android users to utilize.

Seeing AI was recently made available to Android, with users now getting to see it via the Google Play Store to download for free. Initially, the app was only available for the iOS platform, particularly on iPhones, which limited its availability.

There are more Android owners compared to Apple's iOS, and the Seeing AI app will reach more people with the need to fulfill their challenges and difficulties in reading texts.

Microsoft made the Seeing AI app to narrate "the world around you," and as the name suggests, it gives audio descriptions of whatever users point their camera at.

From low-visibility texts to the people around you, the Seeing AI will bring the users the information they need when challenged with vision.

Microsoft's Seeing AI was made for the visually impaired, and not only for blind people but for those who developed these problems throughout the years. It allows people to scan documents, currencies, images in other apps, handwritten text, colors, products, and their information, as well as describe a person, scenery, and more.

The company claimed that it harnessed the power of AI to deliver this all-in-one accessibility app and extend the help.

Microsoft's AI-Powered Experiences

Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled its take on LLM-powered AI developments for its products, and it gave Bing the artificial intelligence upgrade it offers now for the world to use. Later on, Microsoft delivered Bing Chat, an AI chatbot, which was recently renamed to the 'Copilot' that it made available to various devices, including its massive Windows integration.

The AI-powered experiences on Microsoft were made available to different devices, across different apps which the company has available. From Paint to Office 365, there are no shortages in AI experiences which led to massive usage as per the company.

However, its popularity saw excessive loads on Microsoft's services, with the company having to throttle the usage for a more seamless experience.

Artificial intelligence was made to provide assistance and help to users, making everyday life more manageable and less complex, with the latest tech capable of filling in massive gaps. Accessibility is also part of AI's development to offer assistive features for users, with Microsoft's Seeing AI among the renowned apps for the visually impaired, now made more accessible with its Android app version.
