'Halo 5: Guardians' Get Their Own 'Minecraft' Skins For Xbox Starting Oct. 23
Halo 5: Guardians soldiers and agents are going to pay a visit to Minecraft very soon, as Microsoft is sending out Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris to the pixelated block universe, featuring Master Chief, Locke and many more.
Some Xbox One players can't wait to enter the world of Halo 5: Guardians on Oct. 27, so in the meantime, they can enjoy a Halo-like experience in Minecraft on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 starting Oct. 23. This new development will come as a free update to players who already bought the Minecraft: Halo Edition mash-up pack.
The contents of the original mash-up pack include 40 character outfits of well-known Halo characters such as Master Chief, Sergeant Johnson, Cortana and the Arbiter to name a few — all designed by 4J Studios. It also has 31 music tracks from the Halo series and Halo-inspired texture sets, menus and user interface. But the pack doesn't end there, as it also includes premade worlds for players looking to get really absorbed in the Halo universe in a Minecraft setting, featuring the Silent Cartographer, Valhalla, Sandtrap, Guardian, Blackout and Blood Gulch. Also, the pack contains Halo vehicles and other add-ons.
The new characters included in the update are Spartan-117 Master Chief, Spartan-104 Fredric, Spartan-087 Kelly and Spartan-058 Linda for the blue team, as well as Spartan Locke, Spartan Buck, Spartan Tanaka and Spartan Vale for Fireteam Osiris.
Other notable skin packs for Minecraft are the Star Wars DLC and Greek Mythology DLC, and the update for the Minecraft: Halo Edition mash-up pack is just one of the latest additions to the already vast collection of Minecraft skins.
Microsoft seems to have planned this out perfectly along with the release of Halo 5: Guardians, promoting the upcoming shooter game and adding a new set of appealing cosmetics to Minecraft at the same time.
The Minecraft: Halo Edition mash-up pack is available for $3.99 on Xbox Live. As mentioned earlier, Halo 5: Guardians will go official exclusively on the Xbox One on Oct. 27.
