Fortnite has been the subject of several online rumors recently, including one that its own game developer Epic Games may have started on social media.

Creative Director Donald Mustard is known to tease fans on Twitter about potential game changes for Fortnite. He often uses the location on his account to drop hints at what the upcoming change might be.

Earlier this week, some eagle-eyed fans noticed that Mustard changed his Twitter location again. Instead of displaying any real-world locations or even certain spots on Fortnite's game map, the entry simply reads, "The End."

While non-players would dismiss this detail as a mere eccentricity in the part Mustard, Fortnite fanatics know better than to disregard the quirky creative director's hints.

What Could 'The End' Mean?

No one knows exactly what Mustard meant by "The End," but it's got some players and game journalists alike speculating online.

Replying to a tweet about the Epic tease, one user said it might be about a possible crossover event between Fornite and the popular block-building game Minecraft. The "end" could be in reference to an Ender Dragon, which is a fearsome boss mob that was first introduced in the original Minecraft.

Another commenter took this theory and expounded on a possible scenario.

"So basically we all try and destroy the healing towers and then try and defeat the Ender Dragon that's why there was dragon eggs in the volcano and in polar peek - Fortnite Season X Live Event," the Twitter user wrote.

Some fans saw the obvious humor behind the tongue-in-cheek theory, but the joke seemingly flew over a lot of other commenters' heads. Some believe that Fortnite might be coming to an end.

Destroying The Fortnite Map

It's also possible that Mustard was referring to the destruction of the Fortnite map that was teased in a recent leak. One Redditor claimed that an upcoming Season 10 event would have players transported to a new in-game island. This would be followed by several massive changes to the game's map.

Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, especially since Epic has yet to comment on the supposed revamp of Fortnite's map. It's also difficult to go off on a simple game leak, given that some fans are likely to exaggerate event the smallest of details just to rib other gamers.

Whatever Epic has in-store for Fortnite players with the upcoming release of Season 11, it looks like fans are already eager to jump into the game and duke it out with their friends.
