Apex Legends players might soon find themselves battling hordes of zombies, if reports of a possible Halloween event are to be believed.

Game developer Respawn Entertainment gave an unexpected treat when it accidentally posted a badge on its loadout screen about an upcoming "Fight or Fright" event.

While the posting didn't reveal much about the supposed in-game event, it was enough to convince some fans that it might be something Respawn is cooking up for Halloween.

Online speculations were fueled even further when a data miner shared more details about the Apex Legends event on Twitter.

Apex Legends Halloween Event

Twitter user Shrugtal gave players a sneak peek at what Respawn might have in store for Apex Legends fans.

First on the list is the introduction of a new map known as Shadowfall, a reskinned version of Kings Canyon that is now covered in darkness. The area also features giant, green-eyed creatures called Leviathans that tend to populate the center of the game map.

The leak also hinted at a special night-time event that will be held at an "abandoned Kings Canyon" and hosted by a mysterious character known as Revenant.

These will include solo Legends fights but with a surprisingly dark twist. Those who will fall in battle will be reborn on the side of the Shadow Squad, a faction of dark, undead Legends that terrorized the living with their brutal melee attacks and increased mobility.

The remaining 10 living Legends will have to band together if they are to survive the onslaught of the Shadow Squad.

The character of Revenant has been teased before, with some fans believing that it might be the next playable character that will be added to the game.

There are also some audio files for Revenant included in the supposed Halloween event, which suggests that the game developers might be teasing their upcoming character introductions similar to how they handled Crypto's release.

Aside from the undead Legends, the event will also add giant spiders scattered throughout the zombie-infested map. They will likely be dropped into the game at the start of every match, alongside their undead Legend counterparts.

Shrugtal shared a video clip of the spiders' animation. One creepy-crawly appears right next to Wraith to show just how big they creatures will be compared to Legends.

Spooky Skins And Cosmetics

The Apex Legends event might also come with special Halloween skins for playable characters. It looks like there is a pumpkin head for Bloodhound, a clown costume for Caustic, a vampire suit for Crypto, a Frankenstein's monster getup for Gibraltar, and witch's threads for Wraith.

Respawn has yet to confirm whether the special event is indeed true, but with Halloween just a few days away, one might think that it would be the perfect time to roll out such spooky stuff.
