Microsoft is integrating OpenAI's tech into another one of its products. It will be introduced to customer-relationship software intended to help Salesforce increase revenue, according to a report by Bloomberg on Thursday, Feb. 2.

With the use of OpenAI's text-generation technology, Viva Sales can produce email responses for clients with the integration of Microsoft Office and video conferencing software.

The AI technologies will extract information from customer records and Office email programs, including OpenAI's GPT 3.5, the platform that serves as the foundation for the ChatGPT chatbot.

Emails with personalized text, information about prices, and promotions will then be generated using the collected data.

The Microsoft Dynamics customer management software and Salesforce's competitor's program are both compatible with the Viva Sales app, which was first made available in October.

Users who sign up for the premium versions of Dynamics receive it without charge, whereas Salesforce clients pay $40 per month, according to Bloomberg.

Microsoft has been incorporating OpenAI's methods and products into its software for computer programmers and the cloud since last month, when the two companies announced an investment deal that is reportedly worth $10 billion.

Will Microsoft Integrate ChatGPT in Bing?

A person with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg last month that Microsoft plans to use ChatGPT to improve its Bing search engine.

The development brought about by ChatGPT might be advantageous to Google's rival, Bing. This is due to rumors that OpenAi's collaboration with Microsoft will enhance Bing's search engine.

According to Anton Korinek from the University of Virginia, the growing popularity of ChatGPT may "upend Google's market dominance."

Microsoft is already using ChatGPT for its products and promotions; if this also applies to Bing, it might significantly improve its search capabilities.

Microsoft has specific considerations for ChatGPT and was upfront about using the OpenAI tools to enhance its upcoming technologies.

A person with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg last month that Microsoft has plans to use ChatGPT in improving its Bing search engine.

Experts say that ChatGPT may just be the next big thing in the tech scene. In fact, the Gmail creator himself claimed that Google might just be a year or two away from "total disruption."

Paul Buchheit predicts a scenario where the URL or search bar of Google will be replaced with AI autocompleting any questions from a user. This would render AI more effective in giving the best answers for various searches.

He adds that AI will then utilize the old search engine backend to gather summary information for the user. He compares this to asking professional human researcher questions, but the difference is that the software can immediately address someone's request.

He also noted that the situation could be similar to how Google killed The Yellow Pages, noting that it "used to be a great business, but then Google got so good that everyone stopped using the yellow pages."

"AI will do the same thing to web search," said the Gmail creator.
