Google announced a new integration for ChromeOS and it centers on delivering the famed Microsoft 365 service available on the platform soon for all users. This will allow Microsoft's Office suite apps to function on the Google-made computer operating system with ease, as in the past, this was unavailable to download or install on its devices.

The latest ChromeOS and Microsoft 365 integration opens up a way for the public to enjoy more experiences on the Google-powered computers, instead of relying on its apps or online services.

Google's latest announcement in the ChromeOS Beta Tester Community officially confirms the arrival of the Microsoft 365 service for ChromeOS. The company also finally confirms the integration of ChromeOS and Microsoft 365, and this is the first time that Google is letting the rival company into its systems.

According to Google, users may access the Progressive Web App which users may install via this link to use the Microsoft 365 and OneDrive software.

However, this does not mean that users could already download the apps and install them on their respective Chromebooks, centering only on the browser-based experience.

When is Microsoft 365 coming to ChromeOS?

Google announced this via the beta tester community, and this means that the full integration of Microsoft 365 for Chromebooks is not yet available now. The internet company said that it will arrive later in the year, but did not specify any months or season for this release.

It is safe to say that it will arrive to users soon, in a few months.

"It's important to all Chromebook users to have the tools readily available to access the files they need to get things done." says Google.

ChromeOS Features

ChromeOS is among the most popular computer operating systems in the world, and in 2021, the company managed to beat Apple's macOS as the second most used system. Still, it is Microsoft who reigns at the top, with its Windows operating system that is widely used in the whole world, in the majority of computers.

The company is opening up to more programs in the world, and one of the integrations it brought to everyone was the Steam Client availability on its computers. It is also one of the most famous clients in the world, developed by Valve, and it opens up ChromeOS as a choice for gaming and handling massive processes that are compatible with Chromebooks.

Google marketed its Workspace office suite to the world as an online service that saves automatically to its drive, which is a rival of Microsoft 365. Since then, there were no integrations from Microsoft and Google-but that is about to change in a couple of months which Google did not specify for the 365 suite on the Chromebooks.
