Samsung will beat Apple to the punch by releasing its 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet ahead of the iPad Pro. The company has revealed the release date and price of the Galaxy View.

When it comes to competing with Apple in particular, Samsung makes it a point to usually beat Apple to the market in releasing devices Apple is also rumored to be working on.

Samsung beat Apple to the punch when it released its first smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear, in September 2013, while Apple didn't get around to launching its first smartwatch, the Apple Watch, in April 2015.

Samsung is also known to push the boundaries and release devices much larger than any of its rivals. The company is on the same mission when it comes to its new iPad Pro competitor, with its jumbo-sized Galaxy View tablet.

While Apple's iPad Pro and its 12.9-inch display is considered large in tablet standards, Samsung is repeating the same play it used when launching the original Galaxy Note in 2011, release a device with displays that tower over the competition.

"At Samsung, we are committed to creating new possibilities and bringing our consumers the best mobile experience," said JK Shin, CEO and head of Samsung's IT & Mobile Business. "We are very excited to introduce the new Galaxy View, providing an entirely new way of consuming mobile video and entertainment."

The Samsung Galaxy View's 18.4-inch display outdoes Apple's iPad Pro in sheer size, and now, the company has just announced the super-sized tablet will hit the market ahead of the iPad Pro and will also be priced lower than Apple's upcoming tablet.

According to a new report from The Verge, the Samsung Galaxy View will be released on Nov. 6 and will have a starting price of $599, which is for the 32 GB Wi-Fi variant, compared with the 32 GB Wi-Fi iPad Pro's entry-level price of $799. The source also claims that a 4G LTE Galaxy View will be released in the U.S., with the likeliest carrier being AT&T.
