Sprint has unveiled its newest offering to its subscribers: the Starter Unlimited Data Plan, giving them unlimited data for just $20 every month with Sprint Global Roaming. There's a catch, though: users will get only 1 GB of 4G LTE service or high-speed data and then unlimited 2G data afterwards.

Sprint touts it beats all national carriers with this newly offered unlimited data plan, which will kick off on Oct. 30.

"Our Starter Unlimited Data Plan is the most affordable data plan available at any national carrier. Our customers no longer have to worry about being surprised by costly data charges," says Sprint's boss Marcelo Claure. "We offer our Starter Unlimited Data Plan with 1 GB of high-speed data and then unlimited data at 2G speeds. At any time if they need more data, customers can easily add it to their plan."

However, what the service provider does not say is that for subscribers to avail of the data plan, they are required to get unlimited talk and text for which they will be charged an additional $20 monthly. All in all, for a total of $40 per month, subscribers will receive unlimited talk and text, high-speed data limited to 1 GB, unlimited 2G data and Sprint Data Roaming.

In the meantime, the company likewise introduced an Unlimited High-Speed Data Plan at a price of $70 every month, offering users 3 GB of mobile hotspot usage. Under this plan, subscribers will enjoy unlimited talk, text plus Sprint Global Roaming. Subscribers who wish to add extra lines will need to spend $60 on each line with a limit of 10 lines.

Meanwhile, the Sprint Global Roaming allows users to enjoy free 2G data, free texting and calling for 20 cents for every minute in 60 destinations across the globe.

It's worth noting that the unlimited data offer will also be extended to customers in its Family Share Pack Plan. This plan will include 10 GB of data that can be shared across four lines. What's even more interesting is that starting on Oct. 30, subscribers of this particular plan will get unlimited 2G data once the alloted 10 GB is already consumed.

What's even more interesting is that subscribers who want to avail of more high-speed data will be given the option to buy more. Subscribers need to burn $15 for every additional gigabyte.
