Sennheiser unveils a new pair of headphone, which is the successor to the version released back in the 1990s. Dubbed Orpheus, the new headphones are reportedly the clearest-sounding headphones to date given the fact that its distortion level is set at 0.01 percent.

Priced somewhere between $50,000 and $60,000, it's also clear that the Orpheus headphones are one of the most expensive models available in the market to date. Unlike the original Orpheus, which came as a limited edition model, the new model will at least be available in quantities of not more than 250 pairs a year.

As we wait for the new Orpheus headphones to hit the stores in mid-2016, let's take a look at some other models which are arguably a whole lot cheaper, but will also never fail to impress.

URBANITE, $99. Originally priced at $199.95, the Urbanite is a stylish pair of headphones that Sennheiser touts as equipped with a powerful bass, timeless design and robustness in everyday life. Notable features include removable cable, 3-button remote and felt pads. More than being stylish, the headphones also live up to its name, which is positively urban. It's even available in color options that include blue, black, bronzey brown, red/blue and purple.

HD 461G, $89.95. The HD 461G has a closed around-ear design and features more powerful neodymium magnets that deliver enhanced, deep bass listening experience while reducing ambient noise. It also features in-line mic and 3-button remote for calls and music control which makes it ideal to use with smartphones.

Used as a wireless headset, it allows one to easily manipulate calls, enjoy CD-quality sound and achieve clear conversations. The headset can be folded up and be fitted in the included soft travel case. Sennheiser claims that its battery is good to last for 10 hours.

PX 200-II, $89.95. The PX 200-II is a new and improved version of an earlier model and has become an easy favorite because of its rugged, lightweight and powerful features. Designed with closed, on-ear cups and integrated volume control, it's also great for travel because of its unique, folding capacity.

MM 30G Black, $59.95. Touted as an in-ear headset for Samsung Galaxy devices, the MM 30G is designed and compatible with most Samsung devices, including but not limited to Galaxy S2, S3, S4, S5, N2 and N3. It features an in-line remote with a mic and has a very compact design. Although the headset is not designed to be audiophile headphones, the pair nevertheless offers a very impressive v-shaped sound. The build quality is also good and since it comes with a 2-year warranty, you also get some peace of mind at such an affordable price tag.
