JBL is trying to change the wireless headphone category as we know it.

On Thursday, the company announced its JBL Everest line of five wireless headphones, each Bluetooth 4.1-compatible and featuring NXTGen active noise cancelling technology. The five wireless headphones include around-ear, on-ear and in-ear styles.

"The JBL Everest wireless headphones series sets a new standard for connected headphones. For the first time in a wireless headphone, HARMAN unites lifestyle design and meaningful new technology, addressing consumer needs in a way no other company has," president of HARMAN's lifestyle audio division, Michael Mauser, said in the company's release to announce the JBL Everest series of headphones. "We deliver an unparalleled experience with our blend of sound quality, comfort and personalization."

In addition, HARMAN says the JBL Everest series' flagship model, the ELITE 700, has "the most innovative and inclusive set of features ever packed into wireless headphones." In addition to offering 15 hours of playtime with the Bluetooth 4.1 wireless connectivity and NXTGen active noise cancelling technology, the ELITE 700 also boasts TruNote auto sound calibration and an auto off feature.

The TruNote auto sound calibration caters sound based on how ear cups fit around the ears for an ultra-personal experience, while the auto off feature automatically shuts off the headphones to preserve its battery life.

In addition, offered with the Everest line is the free, downloadable My JBL Headphones app, which allows users to further customize their headphone settings and features.

The Everest line of headphones range in price from $99 to $299.
