Need a bit of atmospheric lighting in your home? A new light has been released by a company called Elgato, with the light being a lamp that is able to illuminate in all directions and charge wirelessly for eight hours of use.

Not only that, but the device also connects to the user's smartphone, which can be used to change the color of the lamp using the Elgato app. These colors include the likes of "Northern Glow" and "Magic Hour," and different colors will help to subtly change the atmosphere as they shift gradually.

The release represents a shift for Elgato away from video processing hardware and software to a much wider range of products.

The device also connects to a good variety of smartphones, including the iPhone 4S or later, as well as many Android devices. According to Elgato, phones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 or later are supported. Users can even pair the device with the Apple Watch, as long as it's running watchOS 2 or later.

In case you like to sit outside in the rain, you can take the light with you, as it has an IP65 water-resistance rating. This will also come in handy in case you happen to spill a drink on the lamp.

The Avea Flare lamp from Elgato is available starting today for $99.95 from the Elgato website. The Avea bulb is also available for $39.95.
