If you're in the market for a large tablet and prefer it run Android over Apple's iOS-powered iPad Pro, AT&T has announced it will begin selling the 18.4-inch Samsung Galaxy View on Nov. 20 for $99 with huge catches.

Samsung has always had a knack for pushing the envelope in terms of display size and features on its smartphones and tablets. While critics bashed the company for introducing the giant (at the time) 5.3-inch Galaxy Note in 2011, claiming it was dead on arrival due to its size, Samsung proved it knew what it was doing, and its Galaxy Note phablet series is insanely popular and considered the gold standard in the phablet world.

We're now beginning to see a new trend emerge that is very reminiscent of the early days of phablets. Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 features a large 12.3-inch display, while Apple's just-released iPad Pro ups the ante and delivers a 12.9-inch screen.

Samsung has also introduced its take on a large tablet with its new Galaxy View. In typical Samsung fashion, the Galaxy View towers over its competitors by delivering an 18.4-inch display.

AT&T has become the first U.S. carrier to announce it will offer the Samsung Galaxy View to its customers for $99.99.

"The Samsung Galaxy View is the best parts of a TV and tablet, designed with entertainment as its primary focus," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president of Device Marketing and Developer Services for AT&T Mobility. "We know our customers are watching video in ways they never used to, and with this tablet you can shift where and when content is consumed. No other Samsung device provides this combination of integrated entertainment experience and value."

There are major catches you'll need to consider in order to purchase the Galaxy View for $99.99. You'll need to sign up for new DirecTV service (with a two-year contract). If you're already a DirecTV subscriber, AT&T is also offering the Galaxy View for $99.99 with a new two-year contract as well as a purchase of a new smartphone on AT&T Next.

If you'd prefer to get the AT&T Samsung Galaxy View without signing up for DirecTV, AT&T is offering the tablet for $499.99 with a new two-year contract.

AT&T will begin selling the Samsung Galaxy View at its retail stores nationwide and online on Nov. 20. Check out the video below to see the Samsung Galaxy View in action. Are you planning to pick up a Galaxy View? Let us know in the comments.
