Google has become the latest company to fall victim to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" fever. We thought the search giant was immune, but from what is going on right now, it is clear that Google is infected.

The company has released a feature where fans can choose their sides. Either decide to be a member of the Dark Side or a member of the Light. Whichever the user wants, his or her Google apps will change accordingly.

For example, if some users choose the Dark Side, as all should do, the location marker on Google Maps will transform into a TIE Fighter. Should anyone be foolish enough to choose the Light, their location marker will become an X-Wing.

As for Gmail, the background will be changed to scenes from the Star Wars Universe. While on YouTube, the volume slider and the progress bar will both change to red or blue lightsabers, depending on which side you've chosen.

Changes were also made to Google Chrome, Chromecast, Calendar and Waze.

For those who might be worried about any form of performance adjustments, Google says nothing should change and everything should work as intended. However, the "Star Wars: Force Awakens" release date was automatically added to the Google Calendar.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will probably become the most profitable movie in history — even the best. However, not everyone has an interest in watching men and women wielding laser swords. Furthermore, Google will add the release date without user permission.

It may take a short while for the changes to reflect on all apps but just have patience. Also, folks with Google work accounts, the Star Wars changes won't reflect there, so worry not about your boss wondering if you have lost your mind.

We also learned that the changes are only visible on desktop devices, so mobile users are out of luck.

The changes should disappear to a galaxy far away, come February 2016.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters around the world on Dec. 18, 2015.
