Dec. 1 is celebrated every year as World AIDS Day every year and Apple is lending support to the cause by changing the logo of its store to the color red, as well as endorsing (PRODUCT)RED items on its website.

Apple takes the initiative to raise funds for the charity (RED), which works tirelessly to create AIDS awareness.

"When you buy (PRODUCT)RED merchandise, you're supporting the fight for an AIDS-free generation. So far, over $320 million has been raised for the Global Fund - more than $100 million by Apple alone - to provide education and medical care to those most affected," notes Apple.

Apple's CEO Tim Cook announced via a post on Twitter that Apple stores worldwide were turning their logo red to show support and create awareness for World AIDS Day.

Apple's website features (PRODUCT)RED merchandise i.e. several versions of its devices in red to support the cause. Apple donates a percentage of the proceeds from these sales towards supporting (RED) in its endeavors.

The Apple products which are available in the red color are the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Sport Band (which normally retails in black, white, pink, green and blue), iPhone 6s Plus leather case, iPhone 6s leather case, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus silicone case, Beats Solo 2 On-Ear Headphones, iPod nano, iPod Shuffle, iPod touch, iPad mini 4 Smart Cover, iPad mini 4 silicone case, iPad Air Smart Cover and iPad Air 2 Smart Case.

The RED.org website also lists several special (RED) variants of the Apple merchandise, as well as other products.

Moreover, Apple Store is not the only one showing support for the cause as the iPad and iPhone App Store also has several Supercell games such as Hay DayClash of Clans and Boom Beach available with (RED) in a bid to raise funds for the noble cause.
