Bryan Cranston, the guy who played Walter White pushing crystal methamphetamine for his empire business in the hit TV series "Breaking Bad," has done the voice-over for the latest Apple iPad Air commercial.

Apple released four videos to promote its iPad line of products including the iPad mini with Retina display and the iPad Air. The iPad Air commercial was first shown during the Apple press event on Tuesday.

"It's an extremely simple tool but also extremely powerful," Cranston's voice could be heard in the ad, as the frame zooms onto a pencil laying on the center of a table. Then the frame cycles to a library, a piano room, a board room, a design shop, a laboratory, and a classroom.

"It's used by scientists and artists, scholars and students. It's been to classrooms, board rooms, expeditions -- even to space. And we can't wait to see where you'll take it next," Cranston's powerful voice booms as a hand appears and picks up the iPad Air, which was hidden from view by a thin pencil.

Simple comparison. Powerful message. Beautifully crafted. The commercial for the newest Apple tablet highlights the possibilities and the potentials of the iPad Air, which is just 0.30 inches thin or 20 percent slimmer than the previous version of the tablet. It tips the scale at 1 pound i.e. it is 33 percent lighter than its older sibling.

Cranston has been in the entertainment industry for a while now but has reached superstar status with his role as Walter White or Heisenberg, a school teacher-cum-cancer patient and a drug lord in the "Breaking Bad" series. The actor is not new, however, to doing voice-over; his works can be seen in "Batman: Year One," "Mighty Morphing Power Rangers," and "Kung Fu Panda 3."

In 2012, Apple had tapped the services of Samuel L. Jackson, star of several blockbuster hits such as "Star Wars" and "Pulp Fiction," and Zooey Deschanel of "500 Days of Summer" fame, to showcase the capabilities of the virtual assistant Siri. Critically acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also starred in a Siri commercial.
