We've all seen the pictures; the ones of pregnant mothers to be, caressing their bellies and looking serene in a number of different poses as they look longingly at their yet unborn child. It's a way to share the good news that soon man and wife will become father and mother.

So when the wife of one soon-to-be dad wasn't feeling up to the task of having her body put on display in front of the photographer's camera, he decided to do it himself. He hired a photographer and then posted all the pictures to Reddit. These are the results. We've highlighted some pictures in the left, but you can check out the full gallery photoshoot here.

Using his beer gut as a baby-belly stand in, the husband manages to perfectly mimic the traditional maternity picture poses, except they all come off as absurdly silly, as opposed to touching and peaceful.

A few even manage to come off as more than a little creepy. Why is he eating ice cream like that, or creeping in the doorway? Who knows, but it sure is great. He even manages to photoshop himself into one image so that he can kiss his own (beer) baby.

This sure seems like fun and games, but we can't help but wonder how his wife feels about all this.
