Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 has quietly made its debut on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 consoles, after a notable delay.
The game was expected to hit the last-generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft on Nov. 13, but that obviously did not happen. Fast forward to the present date and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 finally hits both the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
Despite the popularity of the series, the Pro Skater 5 installment received a great deal of criticism because it launched with lots of bugs and glitches that marred the experience on the PS4 and Xbox One. The title offered good gameplay and the presentation was great, but the issues nevertheless drew harsh complaints and Activision went under fire for the botched release.
Considering the buggy, barely-playable launch on the Xbox One and PS4, it's not entirely surprising to see that the Xbox 360 and PS3 release was so quiet.
Despite previous reports claiming that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 would not hit the previous-generation consoles in the UK, the game is now available as a digital download on the Xbox 360 Marketplace in the country. At the time of writing, the game has not launched for the PS3 in the UK, but it should surface soon enough.
It's worth pointing out that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were delayed so Activision could focus on patching things up for gamers who already purchased the botched PS4 or Xbox One version. Just a couple of weeks ago, Activision released a massive update for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, notably improving stability issues. Version 1.03 weighed in at a hefty 7.8 GB.
The game's launch on the PS3 and Xbox 360 should be based on the 1.03 update so gamers won't encounter the same nasty glitches they faced at first. Amazon is also expected to start selling Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 for PS3 and Xbox 360 within the next few days, just in time for the holidays.
