BMW revealed the M4 GTS in October, with the car company claiming that it was able to clock in a lap time of seven minutes and 28 seconds on the Nurburgring, which is one of the world's premiere race tracks.

On-board video footage of the run by the BMW M4 GTS through Nurburgring has been released, with the actual time clocked by the vehicle now known to be exactly 7 minutes and 27.88 seconds. The video is accompanied by commentary from Joerg Weidinger, an engineer for BMW M.

It should be noted that the run was likely made before the operator of the Nurburgring set speed limits for certain portions of the race track. These speed limits will be lifted in 2016 after some safety modifications are completed.

The run by the BMW M4 GTS places it at No. 26 in the Top 100 list of the race track, right in between the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Porsche Carrera GT, which is impressive company for the vehicle, to say the least.

The BMW M4 GTS was first introduced as the water-injected GTS concept earlier in the year. The vehicle features a system which sprays water into both the intake manifold and also directly into the engine's cylinders. The water helps in cooling the pressurized combination of fuel and air before combustion, with the cooling effect leading to a more efficient combustion for increased power.

The highest output for the turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine of the BMW M4 GTS is 493 horsepower with 442 pound-feet of torque, a definite boost from the 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque for the BMW M4 coupe. Other performance specifications of the vehicle include a 0-60 miles per hour time of 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of just below 190 miles per hour.

BMW will only be manufacturing 700 units of the BMW M4 GTS worldwide, with 300 units headed for the United States. The price of the vehicle is at $134,200, plus destination charges of $995. Unfortunately for those that may have the cash to purchase the vehicle, all build slots for the BMW M4 GTS have already been filled up.
