If you're a fan of cooking outside with an environmental conscious, then GoSun's new solar-powered oven, which the company rolled out at CES 2016, might be the ideal choice for you. The grill is a portable hybrid model, letting campers and outdoor cooks fire up their food by inserting it into a long cooking tube and sealing it shut.

It's an upgrade from the Kickstarter-funded company's previous iterations: while GoSun's earlier grills were also solar-powered, they could obviously only harvest power during the day with the help of a capacity to handle electric power.

The stainless steel grill can heat up to 550 degrees Farenheit without altering the temperature of the grill's exterior, making the entire enterprise a bit less dangerous for either the chef or surrounding BBQ imbibers-to-be. It's relatively lightweight at 20 pounds, can purportedly cook a meal in only 20 minutes and can roast up to three pounds of food at a time.

As for its energy-efficient capabilities? According to GoSun founder Patrick Sherwin, the cooker harnesses and uses one-tenth of the power of traditional models, as reported by CNET.

The newest GoSun sun-powered grill will be available in the first half of 2016. Check out some of their other products in the video below.
