Fans who are already excited for the rolling out of ‎Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow on 3DS Virtual Console may want to know that the titles will not have Restore Points. The games will also not allow players to gain access to the 3DS Home Menu.

These ‎Pokémon games are already set to arrive on the Virtual Console in the coming month.

Based on the Japanese Virtual Console manuals for ‎Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow and Green, which Nintendo has recently pushed out, it seems that these two key features will not be supported by these titles, according to Siliconera.

The Restore Point is a popular functionality of a lot of Virtual Console games. By being able to save restore points, you can save a difficult part of the play, think of a strategy to win and save the game, then simply resume it later on. Instead of the Restore Point, players of the ‎Pokémon titles will have to use the traditional 3DS save system and this might not sit very well with some. This only means that players will have to rely on game saves that are already available as they play and do it the old-fashioned way.

What is also noticeable is the lack of the Virtual Console menu. Instead, a Cable Club Communication Menu will replace it and will just appear on the lower screen once a player tries to Search for a Partner or Connect to a Partner who also has any of the ‎Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow or Green.

According to Nintendo Life, the features were taken out so that exploits and duplication of the ‎Pokémon Virtual Consoles through messed-up save files can be prevented. The original ‎Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow games will have their worldwide release in time with the celebration of the series' 20th anniversary, which will be on Feb. 27, whereas the ‎Pokémon Green title will have an exclusive release in Japan.

Fans can readily check out the classic ‎Pokémon titles on its arrival on Nintendo eShop. It is also worth noting that a new 3DS bundle, featuring the three titles, is going to be released on the same day.
