Sprint has a new ballsy ad to counter Verizon and T-Mobile, claiming that its network is actually the fastest one in the United States.

It all started a while ago, when Verizon released an advertisement to highlight why it's the best of the four major carriers in the U.S. Big Red used some colorful balls in its ad to illustrate its point, and that fueled an amusing challenge.

T-Mobile didn't take long to bust Verizon's balls, launching its own ad to highlight what Verizon's ballsy ad got wrong. The Uncarrier basically took Verizon's ad and added a few pop-ups here and there, pointing out what it considers unfair or misleading. T-Mobile even announced a #BallBusterChallenge to prove how its network is better than Verizon's.

It's a cutthroat race for the four major carriers in the U.S., and competition is now heating up even further now that Sprint has its own ad using colorful balls.

Sprint joins the rolling balls challenge with its latest advertising spot released over the weekend, claiming that its LTE Plus network in fact runs faster than all others. The carrier notes that it offers better LTE because it made efforts to build the network of the future, and its LTE speeds surpass those of Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T.

Based on its analysis of recent Nielsen data, Sprint claims that its network is 5 percent faster than T-Mobile's, 10 percent faster than Verizon's, and 24 percent faster than AT&T's (see image above).

"Whether it's an HD movie, brand new album, work presentation or your favorite video game, you'll download it faster on Sprint's LTE Plus Network," the carrier further boasts.

"LTE Plus uses some of the world's most advanced wireless technologies to deliver faster service."

At the same time, Sprint also takes advantage of the new ballsy challenge to revive its campaign to offer data plans at half the price of "most" AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile plans, provided they agree to port over to its network.

While carriers bash each other to come out on top, customers are the ones to reap the benefits. New campaigns, better offers and fun challenges aim to sweeten the deal, but it remains to be seen which carrier will win in the end.
