2K will be hosting World Wrestling Entertainment video games for years to come.

Gameinformer.com is reporting that the video game developer has come to terms with WWE on a new multi-year deal to remain the home of its wrestling titles. Although the financial details of the extended deal weren't announced, Gameinformer says 2K will have exclusive rights to WWE games across all platforms.

The news comes three months after the late October release of WWE 2K16. So, expect at least a WWE 2K17, 18 and 19 in the subsequent years.

As part of the new multi-year contract extension, 2K will keep its investment going toward the SuperCard WWE mobile game as well. 2K told Gameinformer that the iOS and Android WWE title has been downloaded upwards of nine million times since its 2014 release.

As far as the actual WWE 2K series, this renewal will seemingly allow both companies to work together and raise the bar of subsequent titles to match that of the NBA 2K series, which is regarded as being the developer's best title.

As hungry as the WWE Universe is for content and gaming, it will be interesting to see what other new wrinkles 2K introduces into the fold during the years ahead.
