Alcatel OneTouch is growing significantly as a brand, and while it isn't the household name that the likes of Huawei has become, it still has a lot to offer, especially in the budget and midrange market.

According to a recent report published by VentureBeat, this trend is only set to continue, and the company is set to release phones across a range of price points, as well as products in categories in which the company hasn't really dabbled before.

At the top of the Alcatel OneTouch food chain is the Idol series, which will get its fourth version, dubbed the Idol 4S, during the year. This will be the most high-end device ever released by the company, offering a quad HD display as well as an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. It will also offer 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of onboard storage. The camera will include a 16 MP sensor, with the front-facing shooter being 8 MP.

Perhaps more interesting than the phone itself is the fact that the packaging for the device will double as a Google Cardboard-esque virtual reality viewer, allowing users to download VR apps from the Google Play Store and open them using the viewer.

Next up in the lineup is the Pop range, which will include a number of handsets, the most interesting being the Pop 4 and Pop 4S. These devices will be quite low-cost, with the Pop 4 even coming in under $100. The Pop 4 will offer a 720p display, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, an 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. The Pop 4S, however, will be slightly better, offering a 1080p display, a 13 MP rear-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. It will reportedly be released in May.

Third up is the Pixi line, which is even more affordable, with the Pixi 4 costing $99. It will have a 720p display and will come in a number of sizes, including six-inch, five-inch, four-inch and even 3.5-inch.

Last but not least is the Plus series, the company's expansion into more tablet territory. The devices will be eight and 10 inches, and will be offered running Android, however, one will also be offered as a convertible that will capture some of the market dominated by the Windows 10-powered Surface lineup.
