The ice bucket challenge has taken social media by storm. The viral challenge includes people pouring a bucket of ice-cold water over their heads and nominating others to complete the same challenge. Those nominated have 24-hours to complete the challenge or they have to donate to the charity. Many participants both accept the challenge and donate to the ALS Association.

ALS, often called "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a neurodegenerative disease that affects cells in the brain and spinal cord. According to the charity, the ice bucket challenge has raised $4 million since late July.

While President Obama turned down a nomination by Justin Bieber, many other celebs are taking the plunge. Here is a roundup of the top 5 best celebrity ice bucket challenges.

#1 Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt took the challenge to a new level of creativity. Since he was challenged twice, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor drank Blue Ice vodka, followed by a Smirnoff Ice. While this is probably the best way to do the challenge, his wife Anna Faris had the pleasure of dumping buck loads of ice-cold water on the star.

#2 Lady Gaga

In true artistic fashion, Lady Gaga accepted the challenge by posting an arty Instagram video. The pop singer is seen dressed in a dark ensemble with matching dark lipstick. She sits cross-legged on a chair expressionless, and pours the water in silence. How avant-garde!

#3 Jimmy Fallon

"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" showed late night TV just how the challenge is done. Fallon, Rob Riggle, Horatio Sanz, Steve Higgins and the Roots all took center stage to accept. Fallon was challenged by New Jersey governor Chris Chrisite, the "New York Daily News," Justin Timberlake and Jets owner Woody Johnson. Fallon went on to nominate the entire New York Jets team. Score!

#4 Bill Gates

Bill Gates accepted Mark Zuckerberg's challenge, but wanted to do it "better than its been done." Gates designed a self-pulled system that allowed him to pour the ice bucket over his head with a simple tug of a rope. The splash looks awesome in slow motion.

#5 Ben Affleck

Affleck accepted Tyler Perry's nomination and chose people who he knows from "first hand experience looks good in a wet T-shirt." The lucky celebs called out are Jimmy Kimmel, Neil Patrick Harris, Matt Damon and his wife, Jennifer Garner. Garner does the honor by dumping the bucket on her hubby, but Affleck gets her back by dumping her into the pool. The baby laughing in the background just adds to the cuteness factor.
