This week, legendary game developer Hideo Kojima appeared at the Dice gaming summit and not only revealed a few details about the new game he's working on with Sony, but also talked about what he would like to do for future projects.

Kojima's controversial departure from Konami last year resulted in him rebooting his own video game development studio, Kojima Productions. And although most would think that a new studio would only work on a small game first, Kojima plans on going all out with his first title, thanks to a partnership with Sony, a company he trusts and respects.

"I was thinking in my first year out I would make something indie, something small, maybe a game or a movie," said Kojima to Polygon. "But after talking with friends, acquaintances and seeing what fans were saying, I was convinced I should work on a big game, so that possibility was gone."

In his keynote speech at Dice, Kojima also called the new game "edgy" and said that it will give players a lot of freedom. The new game is also not a virtual reality title.

Of course, fans are most curious about what's going on between director Guillermo del Toro and Kojima. The two collaborated on the now-defunct Silent Hills project, with actor Norman Reedus, who was also involved with that game, possibly hinting that Kojima Productions had something new regarding that in the works. However, Kojima denied that the three were currently working on anything, although he definitely wants to work with del Toro again.

"Of course, I'd love to [work with del Toro]," said Kojima. "I don't care what it is. It will probably be really tough. A game or a movie, I don't care, we'll do it."

Director del Toro agreed. When asked about working with Kojima again, he said at the Dice Awards: "I'll do whatever the f**k he wants. Whatever he says, I'll do [it]."

In the future, Kojima hopes he's not limited to just video games: he also wants to work on movies, anime and virtual reality, especially now that he has the freedom to do that.
