Lenovo is one electronics manufacturer who fights for a strong market share in the affordable segment, and its Vibe K5 Plus smartphone delivers a lot for its price point.

The device recently made its debut at the Mobile World Congress, and we took notes to show you what to expect.

Specs And Entertainment

When it comes to mixing strong features and robust performance, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus fits the bill. The team behind the smartphone put a lot of effort into creating a balanced device for entertainment and music enthusiasts.

For one thing, the screen of the Vibe K5 Plus is a 5-inch wide-view FHD capable of delivering 1080p resolutions. Processing power comes from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 eight-core processor.

The standard storage capacity is of 16 GB, but thanks to a microSD card slot, the space can reach 32 GB. The microSD card slot can work as a secondary SIM slot, allowing users to have both their work number and personal number in the same device. A decently sized 2,750 mAh battery provides juice for the handset.

Lenovo equipped the Lenovo VIBE K5 Plus with Dolby Atmos and dual rear speakers. This means that the quality of the sound is flawless, be it in tracks, movies or games.

Camera

To help Vibe K5 Plus owners capture the best moments with the gang or by themselves, Lenovo packed a solid camera combo in the device. A 13-megapixel AF main camera featuring LED flash and a 5-megapixel fixed-focus selfie snapper wait for you to find the best angle and composition.

Software

One neat feature is that Lenovo offers the smartphone with a series of preinstalled social and productivity apps. To name only a few: SNAPit, SHAREit and Guvera Music. Also, the device will sport Android Lollipop out of the box.

Design

The shape and finishing of the Vibe K5 Plus take some cues from the best (read: it looks a lot like an iPhone). Two color options are available for the thin aluminum-based case: Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver. The case has a thickness of only 0.32 inch and a weight of 5 ounces.

Price And Availability

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus, which will sell under the name of Lenovo K5 Plus, is targeted at developing countries. This means that a select number of places, Europe and U.S. excluded, will get access to the $149 smartphone in March.

An even more affordable variant of the handset, called Lenovo Vibe K5 (or Lenovo K5) will sell for $129.

During autumn last year, rumors surfaced that Levono might pull the plug on its Vibe smartphone line.

At the time, Lenovo was the fourth biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world, and all data showed that it aimed to reach top three. Insiders hinted at the fact that Lenovo will operate big changes to its product line so that it increases its competitiveness. One such rumor pointed out that the Vibe line of handsets could use a makeover, if not a complete shutdown.

We are happy to see that the company fully backs the Vibe handset series just like it said it would, and we will keep you posted on its further developments.
