A big screen is great for consuming media content and the iPad Pro now finally supports Netflix streaming, complete with a properly optimized layout to make the most of it.

The latest update of Netflix for iOS brings plenty of other neat features to the table, including 3D Touch support, enhanced auto-play support and more.

The updated Netflix app now reaches version 8.0 and heralds a notably improved experience for iOS users.

For iPhone owners, the most notable features are improved support for auto-play and 3D Touch. The "post-play" experience, as Netflix calls it, refers to the screen users see when they reach the end of the TV or movie they were watching. This screen will now offer recommendations for what to watch next, or auto-play the next episode if it's a TV series.

The 3D Touch experience, meanwhile, comes in the form of "peek and pop," which allows iOS users to take advantage of 3D Touch to get a quick glimpse of a TV series or movie description. This feature also allows users to view more details, play the content, add or remove it from their list, or share it with others. The app icon itself, however, does not support any 3D Touch quick functionality.

While these new iPhone features are definitely welcome, the added iPad Pro support is the highlight of the latest update. Apple's iPad Pro sports a massive 12.9-inch display that can be perfect for watching media content, and the latest Netflix 8.0 for iOS now optimized the app's interface to properly display content on the large tablet screen.

The update doesn't add any specific design changes particularly for the iPad Pro, but the newly optimized layout nonetheless ensures that it displays the proper resolution rather than enlarging it to fit the extra screen real estate.

The new Netflix app for iOS also adds Arabic support for devices running iOS 9 or later. The app's description also mentions improved Kids experience on iPads, as well as some "performance improvements."

Netflix 8.0 for iOS is now available for download from the App Store and is compatible with iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices running iOS 8 or later.

If the streaming service is not what you expected, you can always cancel your Netflix subscription in just a few easy steps.
