Just like a typical smartphone, Galaxy Note 4 has a shutter which is rumored to measure 16 megapixels and said to have the capacity to capture 4K video. Apart from these, Samsung has revolutionize the way people take their photos with the Note 4's new shutter button. Dubbed as "Side Touch," the name itself implies that instead of accessing a phone's physical button to capture images, the Note 4 does it with a touch capacitive sensor which is responsible for snapping photos. Additionally, the Side Touch feature will not work in certain conditions. These would include the times when capturing an image is in a Portrait Mode, Easy Mode, or video capture.

As the Side Touch feature makes capturing images a lot easier, Samsung has thought that such feature may just be their best bet to enter the selfie bandwagon.

The Note 4's camera, which is designed with three new modes, are all geared to meet the demands of a popular trend. The first is a wide-angle mode which makes it easier to image capture a large group. The second deals with capturing self portrait images sans using one's hands. It even has the unique ability to take a picture after sensing that the subject has just blinked or smiled at the camera. The last one, which is dubbed as "Selfie Alarm," allows the user to manipulate the phone's rear-facing camera which is designed to automatically capture an image after its built in sensor has detected a person's face and has enabled great focus.

Along with catching up with the selfie bandwagon, Samsung is also looking into another Internet fad that once again, should make the phone a cut above the rest. According to rumors, the Note 4 has a special software that allows a user to create GIF files using a number of pictures. Other features, all designed for serious shutterbugs, would include HDR live, fast auto focus, and selective focus.

Samsung plans to increase the front camera's amount of megapixels. Reportedly, it will include a 3.7 megapixel lens that would allow captured images and videos to be in WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440). This enhanced feature of the front camera definitely makes sense as the Note 4's software is really focused on producing better, if not the best, selfies.

Other manufacturers are joining the selfies trend by implementing a 5-megapixel front camera in their devices. Sony Corp claims that its own Xperia C3 is the world's best selfie smartphone. On the other hand, Microsoft's Nokia Lumia 730 is the company's unique model of a selfie phone.
