Facebook's Messenger is the fastest-growing app of 2015, reaching 800 million users per month. The app saw a 31 percent user increase compared to 2014, and was ranked third overall in average unique users behind Facebook and YouTube.

The social network, however, is not slowing down in further adding new features to the messaging app, with the latest one allowing Messenger to team up with another highly successful platform.

Facebook has revealed that Messenger has teamed up with Spotify to allow users to share songs and playlists with their contacts.

"Spotify is now available for Messenger, meaning you can say 'Hello' to your friends ... or 'Sorry' if needed," the post says, referring to the hits of Adele and Justin Bieber.

To try out the feature, users can just simply tap on the More tab while chatting with a contact and then select Spotify among the options. Then just search through the Spotify app for the content that they want to share, which includes songs, artists or playlists.

Users who receive recommendations from their contacts will then be able to open the song on Spotify, if the app is installed on their device.

Alternatively, users can share directly from the Spotify through the share menu of the music streaming app, where the Messenger will appear as an option.

The feature is currently being rolled out to the iOS and Android versions of Messenger, and users are not required to be premium Spotify subscribers to use the feature.

The addition of the feature in Messenger allows for better exchanges between friends when they talk about certain songs or artists. Previously, after typing out the name of the song, users will have to switch to Spotify and search for the song themselves. With the Spotify integration into Messenger, users can simply tap on what their friends send them to listen to the song or artist that they were talking about.
