Subaru's "Confidence in Motion" slogan has never been more pronounced than this.

On Thursday, the automaker teased the public with a sneak-preview snapshot of its all-new 2017 Impreza, which will debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show less than two weeks from now on March 23.

Subaru says the Impreza has been "completely redesigned inside and out," ranging from an upgrade of in-car technology to a more spacious interior and sleek new body design. Although the automaker is keeping mum on more information about the updated model until its formal reveal on the 23rd, it is saying that the bolstered ride will feature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and "award-winning safety technology."

By the latter, Subaru might be referring to its acclaimed EyeSight system, which boasts driver-assist technologies ranging from intelligent cruise control to lane departure, sway warning, and precollision braking and precollision throttle management. Within that, its adaptive cruise control can bring the Subaru vehicle to a complete stop if its sensors feel like the distance between you and the car in front is closing too rapidly.

From this glimpse of the all-new Impreza's front-left fender, including headlight, we're already able to see a much bolder, sharper design and look than what the current model sports. Autoblog.com additionally reports that the new Impreza sedan and hatchback will tout LED running lights, as the first model under the company's Subarau Global Platform, which encompasses the automaker's entire upcoming lineup.

The website adds that the new Impreza is at least 70 percent more rigid than the model's current chassis, with an additional 40-percent increase in impact energy absorption.

Already, though, those in the automotive circle say that the 2017 Impreza has borrowed design cues from the two Impreza concepts revealed last year at the Tokyo and Los Angeles auto shows, respectively. That's intriguing, because at the New York International Auto Show, we'll get to see what Subaru brought over from those concepts and what it scrapped or improved upon with this 2017 model.

Of course, Subaru will be one of several automakers revealing a vehicle — and in the same class, at that — so we'll see how the new Impreza stacks up against the competition as well.
