Samsung has launched two new smartphones under its Galaxy J series. The Galaxy J7 (2016) boasts a 5.5-inch 1080p display, while the Galaxy J5 (2016) sports a 5.2-inch 720p screen.

Samsung shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to introducing new smartphones. The company released its flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on March 11 and is rumored to be testing a more rugged variant in the form of the Galaxy S7 Active.

The smartphone maker has just announced two new additions to its lineup, the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016). The pair replaced last year's models and is targeted at selfie fans, thanks to the inclusion of an LED flash on the front facing camera. Both handsets feature a thin metal-framed design.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) features a 5.5-inch 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch (ppi). It is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor and 3 GB of RAM. The handset includes 16 GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that supports up to 128 GB.

The Galaxy J7's camera capabilities include a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, while there is also a 5-megapixel front facing camera for video chat and selfies. The handset ships with a 3,300 mAh removable battery.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) packs in a 5.2-inch 1,280 x 720 Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 282 pixels per inch (ppi). It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM. The device includes 16 GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that supports up to 128 GB microSD cards.

The Galaxy J5 sports the same 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera found on the bigger J7. However, this model ships with a 3,100 mAh removable battery.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) will be offered in three color choices, White, Gold, and Pink.

Currently, both are available for purchase in China, but there's no word on when the pair will make it to other regions. As always, we'll keep you posted on any new details.
