Virtual reality has been booming lately, so it's only natural that the NCAA Final Four and National Championship will be viewable on the Samsung Gear VR.

The sports association is scheduled to hold the Final Four VR livestreams on April 2 and April 4, marking the first time that virtual reality is used for March Madness. It will provide a 180-degree courtside view of the action.

"[NCAA] will provide live game coverage of the NCAA Final Four Semifinals and National Championship in virtual reality for the first time," NCAA says.

Needless to say, interested viewers will need the Gear VR to get in on the action plus a smartphone compatible with it, including the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S7, S7 edge and Note 5. They will then have to download the NCAA March Madness Live VR App at the Oculus Store, which is already available free of charge.

The virtual livestream will feature the game commentary of Grant Hill, Jim Nantz, Tracy Wolfson and Bill Raftery plus sounds right from the arena. On top of that, viewers will also get to see a virtual scoreboard with real-time stats.

What about the people who doesn't own a Gear VR? Well, NCAA is also offering a 180-degree livestream at the official March Madness website on those days. A word to the wise, this is only available in 2D.

NCAA also notes that it will upload 360-degree content of the best moments to the Facebook page of NCAA March Madness.

Despite the fact that virtual reality and sports have already mixed into each other's lives before, this is still definitely one heck of a virtual reality show that fans wouldn't want to miss.

The Final Four is slated to start on April 2 at 3:00 p.m. ET, while the National Championship on April 4 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
