"Hogwarts Legacy 2" may be close to releasing soon.
While there have been no specific updates from Avalanche Software or WB Games regarding what is happening to the sequel title, the latest report suggests that this new update may be promising for fans.
'Hogwarts Legacy 2' Update Points to Closer Release
According to a new post by Avalanche Software on X last week, they have hired a new Community Manager by the name of "Cody" (or Vaknar) to handle the company's social networking pages and channels across the web.
It is not that common for gaming studios to announce a Community Manager hire, and because of this, ComicBook Gaming shared a new report saying that this update maybe an indication that the game may be releasing soon.
According to the report, the latest hiring could be in preparation for Avalanche and Warner Bros. Games' upcoming announcements for "Hogwarts Legacy 2," the unofficial name for the "Hogwarts Legacy" sequel game.

Additionally, it was speculated by ComicBook that this new hire would handle all the upcoming announcements for the sequel game as it may be close to releasing to the public.
The publication also noted that the last time Avalanche announced a new Community Manager hire was in December 2021, which was then followed four months later with a State of Play announcement of "Hogwarts Legacy" in March 2022.
Additionally, the announcement follows claims that Avalanche Software was also hiring a Video Capture Artist who is meant to capture cinematic gameplays for trailers or gameplay showcase purposes.
It was argued by ComicBook that both roles are mostly needed when the company needs staff to handle the game's announcements and its online presence, as well as capture video game footages.
When to Expect 'Hogwarts Legacy' Sequel
There are expectations that the game may arrive this year, particularly in the latter part of 2026, as Warner Bros. is set to premiere its "Harry Potter" series on HBO Max come December.
WB Games and Avalanche previously noted that the sequel game will tie into the upcoming HBO Max series revolving the main story of the novel series. Previous rumors claimed that "Hogwarts Legacy" could drop within a 2026 to 2028 timeline, with this latest claim about a release this year lining up to previous reports.
Avalanche Software and WB Games have yet to share any information regarding the sequel title, as well as its official release date.
