Amazon announced on Thursday that it has added new brands and products that are now available to order with its Dash Buttons. With this expansion, there is now a total of more than 100 Amazon Dash Buttons available.

Launched a year ago, the Amazon Dash Buttons line allows consumers to buy products from the online retail store with just the press of a button. The idea is that, when you are running low on Tide to do the laundry, all you have to do is push the wireless button to have some more coming on its way.

While many people probably thought that this way to shop on Amazon wouldn't catch on, the Dash Buttons have actually been doing very well for the company.

"Prime members are using Dash Buttons at an increasing rate — over the last three months, Dash Button orders have grown by more than 75 percent," Daniel Rausch, Director of Amazon Dash, said in a press release. "Customers are using Dash Buttons more than once a minute, helping ensure they never run out of their everyday essentials."

The buttons that were initially available were mostly for common household items, like diapers, garbage bags and detergent. This latest expansion brings the Dash Buttons to even more retail categories, including food and drink, with items like Slim Jim and Starbucks.

Some of the new brands now available as a button include: Doritos, Quaker, Red Bull, Vitamin Water, Dasani, Peet's Coffee, Energizer, Clorox, Lysol, Playtex, Trojan, Burt's Bees, Purina, Brawny, Charmin, Honest Kids and more.

Each brand's Dash Button retails for $4.99, but Amazon does credit the customer this same amount after their first order. However, the customer has to be an Amazon Prime member in order to be able to shop using the button. On the plus side, this means that the items will be delivered with two-day shipping, so it will probably arrive before you run out.

The Amazon Dash Buttons are made out of plastic and have a strip of adhesive so that the consumer can attach it somewhere near that particular product, like in the pantry or on the washing machine.

Prime members set up the Dash Button via the Amazon app for iOS and Android to start making orders. Each time they do use the Wi-Fi connected button, a notification will be sent to their smartphone to confirm the purchase.

Now, Amazon users no longer have to worry about running out of their early morning cup of coffee. Shopping is as simple as the push of an Amazon button.
