In case you missed grabbing a Final Fantasy XV Ultimate Collector's Edition set before it sold out last week, you're sort of in luck: the sets are now turning up on eBay, but it will set you back: they're going for about three times their original price.

Last week, Square Enix held a special event celebrating the highly anticipated game and then offered up 30,000 copies of the limited edition collector's set. That copy of the game included the game itself, a pair of two-disc steelbooks, an exclusive car recolor, the Royal Raiment costume from Kingsglaive and a Play Arts Kai Noctis action figure.

That ultimate edition sold out in just 30 minutes, but it seems that some of those buyers had the nefarious plan of buying the set at the original price and then putting it up on eBay to profit from it.

The set originally retailed for $270. Listings for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the set, though, are running at around $500 to $900 on eBay.

All is not completely lost for those who didn't get a chance to buy the set the first time around, though. Forget eBay, because Square Enix may have plans to release more of the sets.

"And by the [way the] preorders for the Ultimate Collector's Edition vanished in a flash, and [sic] we've received plenty of voices from those that weren't able to acquire it," director Hajime Tabata said on Twitter, as translated by Siliconera. "We are terribly sorry about that. At the moment, we're continuing with internal coordination to see if we can somehow increase its production. We will make an announcement as soon as there's any progress!"

For now, anyone interested in buying the Ultimate Collector's Edition without going through eBay can get on the waiting list by providing Square Enix with an email address. It's probably a better bet than paying three times the price of the set. Gamers can also still preorder the deluxe edition for $89.99 or the day one edition for $59.99.

Final Fantasy XV releases on Sept. 30 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
