In a bid to provide a brand new and a more consistent look, Google has given its entire family of Play apps icons a big makeover.

Google unveiled the new look for Google Play family of apps via a blog post on Monday.

"[A]ll our icons are getting an update to provide a consistent look across the entire family of Play apps," says Jonathan Chung, Visual Design lead at Google Play.

Android users will begin to see the amped up Google Play icons across devices and online in the succeeding weeks.

"We hope you'll continue enjoying the Play family of products - now with a new look," adds Chung.

What turns heads in this big update is the more playful, more vibrant and more appealing looks of the icons.

The Google Play logo, for instance, has been given a brighter and more stimulating design than as it was before.

The Play Store logo, in the meantime, bears similarity with the Play icon. Of course, the envelop on its back sports a more refreshing white color. However, it is noticeable that the fold in the middle of the envelope is not there.

With regard to the other Play apps logos, it can be observed that they are all enclosed within the Google Play icon, perhaps giving them what the company says a "consistent" look. It is likewise worth mentioning that the triangle icon matches the color of the each Play service.

While most of the logos appear similar to its previous versions, Play Music and Play Newstand now feature different icons. Of course, much like the Play logo, these individual app logos also boast sharper and more vivid colors than their past look.

Word has it that this icon update could also signify the probability that these apps will be getting some tweaks in terms of their designs down the road.

Perhaps, we could learn more about the company's next plans with regard to these Google Play family of apps at the Google I/O developer conference, which will be held between May 18 and 20, 2016, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View
