According to T-Mobile senior product manager Des Smith, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the LG V10 will be pushed out beginning next week, which is a few weeks after Verizon launched the said update for the smartphone.

There is no specific date mentioned by Smith, but the software update will be a welcome one for LG V10 users on the carrier. Over-the-air updates take some time before they arrive across all devices that they are intended for though, so users should remain patient while they wait to receive the update.

The information was released by Smith through his Twitter account, with a tweet containing an image of the LG V10 on T-Mobile.

The LG V10 began shipping in October 2015 with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed. With the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the smartphone will receive the features included in the newer version of Google's mobile operating system, such as the informative Now on Tap and the battery-saving Doze.

With the pending update, only LG V10 users on AT&T are still waiting for confirmation on when the operating system upgrade will be coming to their smartphones. Sprint subscribers, meanwhile, are still waiting to see if the carrier would offer the device.

While the LG V10 remains a very capable smartphone, the spotlight on LG devices has been shifted to the LG G5. The smartphone, which only started to recently ship out to customers, is available on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular.

In a comparison between the LG G5 and LG V10, the LG G5 came out as a superior smartphone. The LG V10 has a bigger 5.7-inch screen compared to the 5.3-inch display of the LG G5, but the newest LG smartphone packs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and Quick Charge 3.0. The LG V10, however, would be a better choice for selfie lovers, as it features 5MP dual front cameras.
