HTC just unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the HTC 10. The handset is being sold unlocked on the company's site for $699 but a promotional code will slash $100 from its price bringing it down to $599.

Android smartphone fans just got a new flagship device to choose from when considering a top of the line handset. HTC finally put all the rumors to rest and took the wraps off of the HTC 10, which will go head to head with the recently released Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5.

HTC has crafted the HTC 10 out of a premium all-metal body with its signature dual finish and slight curve on the rear to make the smartphone feel great in the hand. The company has just opened up preorders for the unlocked HTC 10 on its site and has priced the handset at $699. If you want to slash $100 off the price, a promo code will give you that opportunity.

The HTC 10 boasts a 5.2-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD Super LCD5 display with a high pixel density of 565 pixels per inch (ppi), which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It ships running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, along with an updated version of HTC's Android skin, HTC Sense 8.0 UI.

The HTC 10 includes 32 GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that supports up to 200 GB microSD cards. The smartphone sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), dual-LED (dual tone) flash. Selfie fans will appreciate its 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which also includes OIS (optical image stabilization), autofocus, and the ability to capture 1080p Full HD video.

HTC has packed in a large 3,000 mAh non-removable battery with built in Quick Charge 3.0 support, which the company claims will provide up to a 50 percent charge in 30 minutes.

If you're interested in purchasing the unlocked HTC 10, head over to the company's site and choose either the Carbon Gray or Glacier Silver model. Once you have your choice in your cart, enter the following code, "HTC1008" in the promotions field, which will bring its normal $699 price down to $599. There's no word on when this deal expires and HTC says it will begin shipping the smartphone in early May.
