The wait is almost over: Jason Bourne is back and now that he remembers who he is, he's not happy.

That doesn't bode well for those Bourne is after, and in the first trailer for the film, Jason is on the run, but he's also planning the downfall of those he's got a beef with.

Jason Bourne, which returns Matt Damon back to the role, takes place 12 years after Bourne disappeared in 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum.

"So technically when the Bourne character disappears, it's still 2004," Damon said to Variety. "So when this next one comes out in '16, it will have been 12 years - in movie years - that the character as been off the grid. So what's happened in those intervening years gives you a story."

Ignoring the 2012 movie that starred Jeremy Renner as a new character, this movie is all about Bourne again, and even brings back director Paul Greengrass at the helm.

The story involves a major hacking incident, as mentioned in the trailer.

"There's been the financial collapse, the great recession, all these issues of cyberwarfare and civil liberties," Damon said to Entertainment Weekly.

Be sure not to miss the awesome action sequence teased in the trailer that occurs on the Las Vegas Strip. Grab the popcorn because this looks like it's one of those "must not miss" summer movies.

In the Bourne movies - inspired by a series of novels by Robert Ludlum - Bourne is a CIA assassin with amnesia whose adventures involve him searching for clues about his real identity. It seems like in the fifth film, Bourne has finally put the pieces together to figure out who he really is. But that also means that he must try to come to terms with that, while also saving the world.

This is the fifth film in the Bourne franchise, with Damon portraying the character four previous times. This is Greengrass' third time as director of a Bourne movie.

Jason Bourne also brings back Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons, as well as adds a few new cast members, including Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones.

Jason Bourne explodes into theaters on July 29.
