Jeff Goldblum taught the audience of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” lyrics to John Williams's majestic “Jurassic Park” theme on Tuesday, September 9.

And of course, lyrics are pretty awful:

"In Jurassic Park.
Scary in the dark.
I’m so scared that I’ll be eaten."

“Somebody else wrote this, I know not whom,” Goldblum fortunately clarifies. Meyers convinces Goldblum, who played Dr. Ian Malcolm in the iconic film, to sing a snippet. He indulges Meyers, then asks the audience to join in.

According to NPR, Goldblum performed this version of the “Jurassic Park” theme song back in May during a performance with his jazz band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, in Los Angeles.

“All things being equal, I think it was probably right not to have the lyrics in the actual film,” comments Meyers. I think everyone agrees with that sentiment. Even when working with terrible lyrics, however, Goldblum can do no wrong. This silly little performance is a great example of why his fans love him so much.
