The instant messaging apps are getting innovative every day and Facebook is keen on staying ahead in the game. After gifting us with a completely revamped Messenger app, the world's largest social networking site is now testing a new Facebook chat feature that lets you know if your Facebook friends have logged in from a mobile or web.
"We are testing a feature that gives you a better understanding of where your friend will receive your message," a spokesperson for Facebook said.
We're not quite sure how useful this feature is. However, getting a better understanding of where your friends have logged in from, will probably give you an idea of what kind of conversations to kick off and what you can expect from them as replies.
Facebook, which is rolling out the change globally, is trying out new things to prevent its users, especially teens, from deserting it for rival social networks like Twitter or Pinterest.
